LYONS, N.Y. (AP) - Two men have been sentenced for the fatal stabbing of an upstate New York teenager a year ago this month.

The Democrat and Chronicle of Rochester reports that 18-year-old Hunter Peck, of Newark, was sentenced Thursday in a Wayne County court to 23 years to life in state prison for the killing of 17-year-old Zackary Dwello of Sodus.

Twenty-year-old Vaughn Gray, also of Newark, was sentenced to 18 years to life in prison.

Peck pleaded guilty to murder last month and Gray pleaded guilty in August to manslaughter in the fatal attack on Dwello in a park in Newark on the night of Dec. 8, 2017. He later died at a Rochester hospital.

The victim’s relatives say he was killed during a dispute over marijuana.
