PASCAGOULA, Miss. (AP) - An in-home child care center in Mississippi is closed after parents said their 18-month-old son was attacked by a 4-year-old while the children were unsupervised.
The Mississippi State Department of Health issued an order Tuesday to close Pooh and Crew in Pascagoula.
Department spokeswoman Liz Sharlot tells news outlets that the center was not licensed. Photos published on social media by the parents of 18-month-old Dakota Hudson show him with multiple scratches on his face.
Dakota’s mother, Latoye Sutter, says her son was attacked when the day care owner stepped away to light a fireplace. His father, Trent Hudson, says Dakota requires medicine in his eyes because of the injuries.
Pascagoula police say the incident is under investigation.
