SHOSHONI, Wyo. (AP) - A house fire in central Wyoming over the weekend has left two Fremont County residents dead.
Fremont County Coroner Mark Stratmoen tells The Ranger that a 57-year-old woman and her 64-year-old husband died in the fire, which occurred about 6:20 a.m. Sunday at their home in Shoshoni.
The names of the victims were not immediately released.
Fremont County Fire Protection District chief Craig Haslam says a neighbor smelled and saw smoke coming from the roof of the house and called for firefighters.
Haslam says one victim was found in the front room of the home, while the other was in a hallway.
The house was a total loss.
Haslam said the Wyoming State Fire Marshal’s office will investigate the cause of the fire.
