AURORA, Colo. (AP) - A 35-year-old former science teacher at a Colorado school has pleaded not guilty to charges that he repeatedly sexually assaulted one of his female students.

The Aurora Sentinel reports that Gabriel Alsina pleaded not guilty on Monday in Arapahoe County District Court to five felony counts of sexual assault on a child.

Investigators say Alsina had a relationship with a student at Vista PEAK Preparatory at the school, in Alsina’s car and at his home during her sophomore and junior years of high school.

Police say they learned of the relationship after receiving a tip from the victim’s therapist.

Alsina has posted $500,000 bail and his trial is set for April 30.
