BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Forecasters say they don’t expect any problems from a wintry mix of snow and rain that’s falling in parts of north Alabama.
The National Weather Service says snow flurries have been reported in northwest Alabama, and frozen precipitation could fall as far south as the central part of the state.
But both air and ground temperatures are expected to remain above freezing during the day, so there shouldn’t be any accumulations that could lead to travel problems.
The story is different elsewhere in the South.
Parts of North Carolina received about a foot of snow on Sunday, and western portions of the state have gotten about 20 inches of snow in all from a storm system.
