ROSE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Two students have been injured after their school bus left the roadway and struck a tree in northeastern Michigan.

MLive.com reports that 16 students were on the West Branch-Rose City Area Schools bus when it crashed about 7:40 a.m. Friday in Rose Township, north of Saginaw.

Ogemaw County Sheriff Howie Hanft said a 12-year-old boy suffered a broken leg and 7-year-old girl had a broken collar bone.

Hanft also said the bus’s on-board video camera showed the 33-year-old driver falling asleep before the impact. The driver was not hurt.

The crash is under investigation.
