VERNON, Conn. (AP) - A woman who was found unresponsive on a Connecticut hiking path has died.

Police say the woman was found on the Rails to Trails hiking area in Vernon on Tuesday morning.

First responders performed CPR, and the woman was transported to a hospital where she later died.



Police say there are steep cliffs in the area, and they estimate the woman may have fallen more than 100 feet (30 meters).

An investigation into her death is ongoing.
