SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine (AP) - A Maine community college has closed a residence hall where mold was found.

Southern Maine Community College said in a statement on Facebook Sunday that they had closed the Spring Point residence hall to “assess and address the appearance of mold.” Students have been moved into another residence hall.

SMCC student Olivia Treadwell is holding a protest concerning dorm conditions Monday night.

SMCC says they are testing samples. School officials didn’t say when the mold was discovered.
