HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say man who was shot multiple times while driving through a central New Jersey community has died from his injuries.

Mercer County prosecutors say Matthew Dukes was found around 11 p.m. Tuesday in his vehicle on a Hamilton Township street. They had responded to the area after multiple 911 callers reported shots being fired there and a man screaming that he had been shot.

The 28-year-old Trenton resident was taken to a hospital but died there early Wednesday. He apparently was alone in the vehicle when the shooting occurred, and no other injuries were reported

A motive for the shooting remains under investigation. The county’s Homicide Task Force is leading the investigation.
