ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Anchorage police have taken a suspect into custody in the armed robbery of a tobacco shop.
Police say a man at about 6 p.m. Tuesday walked into Smoker’s Choice on Minnesota Drive in west Anchorage, fired a shot, robbed the business and fled in a white car with other people inside.
Police found the car abandoned less than a mile away in the Turnagain neighborhood.
A resident later Tuesday night noticed a suspicious man in the Turnagain neighborhood and called 911. Officers found the man in the back yard of a home and took him into custody.
Police say he matches the description of the robbery suspect.
Police are looking for more suspects.
