NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (AP) - Authorities say a Massachusetts police officer has been injured by a motorist who drove over traffic cones and struck the officer with her car.
The Standard-Times reports the officer was hit Monday in New Bedford while working a detail on a partially closed street. He suffered injuries to his side and back but is expected to survive.
The driver was cited for negligent driving. Her name was not released.
