Man shot in Springfield died in hospital

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) - Police say one person has died in a late night shooting in Springfield.

A department spokesman says the male victim was shot at Worthington and Federal streets at about 10:30 p.m. Monday.

The victim was conscious when he was taken to the hospital, but died overnight.

No name was immediately released.

There was no word on an arrest.
