CAMDEN, S.C. (AP) - South Carolina transportation officials say they are closing a lane of the Interstate 20 bridge over the Wateree River after small holes were found in the bridge deck.

The Department of Transportation says it closed the right lane of the I-20 eastbound bridge near Camden early Monday.

Crews hope to finish the repairs by Wednesday afternoon.

The agency tweeted photos of small holes with steel rebar running through them on the bridge. About 40,000 vehicles travel over the two I-20 bridges over the river.
