COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) - Police in Columbia have released more than 280 pages of investigative reports related to the fatal shooting of a suspect by a Columbia officer last year.

The Columbia Tribune reports that the documents were released more than four months after a special prosecutor declined to file charges against the officer who killed Clarence Coats Jr.

Authorities say Coats was using methamphetamine when he began shooting indiscriminately at a home in May and fired at arriving officers. A deputy was shot in the arm. Authorities say Coats was shot after he appeared to aim at a bystander.

The new reports identify the officer who shot Coats and says he was not wearing a body camera because he was following SWAT team procedures for rapid response to an active shooter.
