BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - The U.S. Forest Service is planning to conduct a dozen controlled burns in the Sheyenne National Grassland in southeastern North Dakota.
The Dakota Prairie Grasslands office says the burning of about 4,000 acres could begin early this month if conditions permit.
Officials use controlled burns to manage vegetation, wildlife habitat and invasive species.
