GRIFTON, N.C. (AP) - Authorities in North Carolina have accused a man of making pipe bombs in his garage.

The Pitt County Sheriff’s Office told news outlets 34-year-old Joshua Foster is charged with manufacturing weapons of mass destruction, breaking and entering to terrorize and assault on a female, among other charges.

WITN in Greenville reports Grifton police said the search and arrest stemmed from a domestic violence case. A police spokesman said Foster was already in jail when they learned there might be pipe bombs at the home. Deputies, police, and state and federal officials searched the home and found four pipe bombs.

Police said Foster had no specific target for the devices.

Foster, who was arrested Monday, is jailed on a $1 million bond. It’s not known if he has an attorney.
