DOVER, N.H. (AP) - Construction has started on the creation of a veterans’ park in the New Hampshire city of Dover.

The park will be on the front lawn of the McDonnell Center, a municipal building that houses the recreation department, a fitness center and senior center.

Seacoastonline reports (https://bit.ly/2eObTXQ ) that the goal is to have the park dedicated on Veteran’s Day, Nov. 11.

The park will honor all veterans.

The budget for the project is $140,000.

Dover’s Recreation Director Gary Bannon says the city has raised about $12,000 from a program in which residents can honor a veteran by buying an engraved brick that will be installed in a walkway. The city also has collected about $5,000 in private donations.
