GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) - A 40-year-old South Carolina man has died while trying to cross a state highway.
Greenville County Deputy Coroner Kent Dill says a pickup truck fatally struck Joel Jackson of Marietta as he crossed S.C. Highway 183 near Greenville about 5:45 a.m. Saturday.
Dill says Jackson died at the scene. The driver of the pickup did stop after the collision.
Highway Patrol spokesman Joe Hovis says the 26-year-old driver was not injured. No charges have been filed.
