BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum has ordered that flags on state properties be flown at half-staff Monday to honor those killed in the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

Burgum also is encouraging North Dakota residents to display the flags at their homes at half-staff.

Nearly 3,000 people lost their lives in the attacks.



Sept. 11 has been designated Patriot Day and a Day of Service and Remembrance.
