South Carolina authorities think fire death was homicide

HARTSVILLE, S.C. (AP) - Authorities in South Carolina are investigating a fire death earlier this week as a homicide.

Darlington County Sheriff’s Lt. Robby Kilgo said in a news release Thursday night that the fire at a home in Hartsville earlier this week appears to have been drug-related.

Sheriff’s deputies and the State Law Enforcement Division are investigating the fire that was reported Tuesday. The name of the victim has not been released.

No arrests have been made.
