ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) - A Tennessee man has been killed during a car crash in North Carolina.

North Carolina Highway Patrol Trooper Kelly Rhodes tells WYFF-TV that the 80-year-old was killed Thursday morning when his car went off Interstate 26 in Buncombe County and hit several trees.

Rhodes says investigators believe the man suffered from a medical condition. The man hit several cars before running off the left side of the road, going over an embankment and into a ravine.

No one else was hurt.

The coroner hasn’t released the man’s name.
