WEST MONROE, La. (AP) - A Louisiana man who is on probation and has four prior driving while intoxicated arrests within the state has been arrested on similar charges.

The News-Star reports 33-year-old Claude Bouwell was arrested Saturday and charged with several offenses, including operating a vehicle while intoxicated and improper lane use.

An arrest affidavit states a West Monroe police officer made the stop after seeing Bouwell’s vehicle go onto a curb as he turned into a store parking lot. Authorities say Bouwell had an open bottle of beer and displayed signs of intoxication, which included slurred speech. He also performed poorly on a standard field sobriety test.

Bouwell’s license was suspended at the time of the stop and he is on probation until 2020. It’s unclear if he has a lawyer.
