ARLINGTON, Mass. (AP) - Authorities say a teenager has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old boy in suburban Boston last week.

Arlington Police Chief Frederick Ryan says the 17-year-old juvenile was charged Tuesday with manslaughter, aggravated assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and carrying a firearm without a license in the Aug. 29 death of Tenzin Kunkhyen.

Authorities have said Kunkhyen, who was a student at Malden High School, was inside the Somerville home with people he knew and the shooting was not a random act. He died at the hospital.

Police say the teen will be arraigned in juvenile court. It’s unclear whether he’s being represented by an attorney.
