EAST ORANGE, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a woman shot while she sat in a car has died from her injuries.
But a motive for the shooting in East Orange remains under investigation.
Essex County prosecutors say Breanna Williams was shot around 1:40 a.m. Monday on Chelsea Place. The 23-year-old Orange woman was taken to a hospital but died there a short time later.
No other injuries were reported.
Authorities declined to provide further details on the shooting, citing the ongoing investigation.
The county’s major crimes task force is leading the investigation.
