GRANGEVILLE, Idaho (AP) - High temperatures and low humidity continue to make fighting wildfires in Idaho a challenge, especially with a wildfire-fighting force that’s already stretched to the limit.
Fire officials say those factors along with shifting winds could cause problems for a 35-square-mile (90 square kilometer) wildfire in central Idaho.
The so-called Hanover Fire is burning south of Grangeville and northeast of Riggins in the Nez-Perce-Clearwater National Forests.
KTVB-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2wBdecm ) the Boise National Forest and part of the Payette National Forest are under red flag warnings through Monday night.
The warnings come as crews continue to battle a fire that prompted the closure of campgrounds in the Deadwood Reservoir area northeast of Boise.
By Sunday, the Bearskin Fire had burned more than 24 square miles (61 square kilometers) northeast of Lowman.
