DESTIN, Fla. (AP) - A man is dead following an apparent drowning off a Florida beach.
The Northwest Florida Daily News reports that beach safety officers found man unresponsive Monday afternoon in the water at the Shirah Beach Access in Destin. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Officials say the man appeared to be in his 50s. They were working to identify him.
