Woman struck, killed outside church near Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Police say an elderly woman was struck and killed outside her church near Pittsburgh.

Ross Township police said the accident happened at about 9:30 a.m. Sunday outside Faith Lutheran Church in the Laurel Gardens neighborhood.

The woman, who wasn’t identified, was taken to Allegheny General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Police said the driver stopped at the scene and the accident is under investigation. No charges were immediately filed.
