MERIDIAN, Idaho (AP) - Law enforcement officials say a Meridian woman faces a felony charge for vehicular manslaughter after a four-car pileup that killed a 73-year-old woman.

According to Meridian police, 52-year-old Shelly Wilson rear-ended Patricia Ann Shannon’s Buick while driving in Meridian on Thursday. The crash then caused a chain-reaction collision involving two other vehicles.

Shannon was taken to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Ada County Coroner Dotti Owens’ report indicates Shannon bled to death.

Police say there was no indication Wilson slowed down before the collision.

Wilson was also taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries. Police say Wilson will be booked after she is released from the hospital.
