When he takes a wrecking ball to 1516 W. Wrightwood Avenue in Chicago, the crane operator may feel tempted to quip, “Did I do that?!”

The house at that Chicago address — featured in the opening credits of the 1990s ABC sitcom “Family Matters” — will be coming down to make way for a multi-family apartment unit, DNAInfo.com reported Thursday

An official with the realty company in charge of the project said that the pop-culture significance of the site will be recognized in a display in the lobby of the new building.

“In honoring the site’s past, they plan to decorate the entry with framed photographs of the original house and the show’s beloved cast,” said Coldwell Banker’s Lissa Weinsten, DNAInfo reported.
