We all have regrets in life. The three-fingered protocol for rebooting your frozen PC is one of Bill Gates’s.
In a Q&A at the Bloomberg Global Business Forum in New York on Wednesday, the Microsoft co-founder admitted that it was possible to have designed his iconic Windows operating system in the 1980s with a single button to reboot or force-quit one’s PC.
“Clearly, the people involved, they should have put another key on in order to make that work,” Mr. Gates said, USA Today reported on Wednesday. “I’m not sure you can go back and change small things in your life without putting the other things at risk. Sure, if I can make one small edit, I’d make that a single key operation.”
