STORRS, Conn. (AP) - A surveillance video shows a UConn fire vehicle stopped for a moment after striking a student outside the firehouse last October before running over the 19-year-old woman.

The video was obtained by the Hartford Courant (https://cour.at/2ycuLrP ) from a lawyer representing the family of that woman, Jeffny Pally, who was killed.

Tolland State’s Attorney Matthew Gedansky, who had reviewed that video, declined to file any charges against the firefighter, who was responding to an emergency call at 1 a.m. on October, 16.

The video also shows Pally before the accident, falling asleep in front of the windowed garage door.

It then shows the door opening and the SUV pulling forward, striking what firefighter Dana Barrow later said he thought was a piece of fire equipment.

Pally’s family has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the state and Barrow.
