LIZELLA, Ga. (AP) - Police say a Georgia man who intended to lend money to a friend was robbed by that friend at gunpoint.
The Telegraph of Macon reports that 22-year-old Drake Clifton Holmes was arrested Monday night and charged with armed robbery, using a gun with an altered ID mark and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.
A news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office says a man got into Holmes’ car Monday night after they had arranged to meet. The release says the man intended to loan Holmes money, but Holmes pulled a gun and demanded all the cash.
The victim followed Holmes after the robbery, until deputies took Holmes into custody.
It’s unclear if Holmes has a lawyer.
