NASHUA, N.H. (AP) - A New Hampshire man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for slashing his ex-girlfriend’s throat.

WMUR-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2iNXEan ) 33-year-old Carlos Albarran was sentenced after pleading guilty to two counts of first-degree assault on Thursday.

Prosecutors say Albarran HAD arranged to meet with his ex-girlfriend in Nashua earlier this year in order to drop off some belongings. Authorities say he slashed the woman’s throat with a knife while she sat in the passenger seat of a car, dropped the weapon and fled the scene.



The victim, whose name has been withheld, says she is permanently scarred and must undergo more surgeries.

Albarran apologized for his actions.
