BELLEVIEW, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a helicopter has made an emergency landing in Florida after a patient allegedly punched someone from the medical team.

According to a report from Marion County Sheriff’s officials, the 66-year-old male patient punched one person and hit another medical worker on Wednesday. A deputy said the patient also grabbed equipment inside the helicopter.

It’s unclear why the unidentified patient was initially being transported in a medical helicopter. No other details were released.

The helicopter made an emergency landing at a central Florida high school. Marion County Fire Rescue officials met the helicopter to transport the patient to a nearby hospital.

The Ocala Star-Banner reports he was calm during the transport.
