CNN anchor Don Lemon filed a police report Wednesday after a self-described white nationalist on Twitter allegedly threatened to stab him.
Mr. Lemon filed an aggravated harassment report with the New York Police Department after a social media user allegedly sent threatening private messages, an NYPD spokesman told People magazine.
“It was harassment and they also made a threat. The person said, ’I will find you real soon.’ And called [Mr. Lemon] a f—ing n-word,” the spokesman said. “It’s being investigated at this time.”
TMZ, which first reported the incident Wednesday evening, said the user sent Mr. Lemon messages that read, “F— you [n-word] can’t wait to stab your neck” and “U r a pile of rotting Dogs—t,racist, communist, socialist, Liberal moron asshole,i will find u U will pay.ill see u real soon…”
The user’s profile reportedly read, “white nationalist conservative . pro gun anti islam anti terrorist anti leftist yes i HATE demorats, blm, antifa ,socialists. heavily armed racist.WLM.”
The alleged threat came one day after Mr. Lemon published an open letter begging President Trump to learn how to take the high road when it came to controversy surrounding his condolence phone call to Myeshia Johnson, the Gold Star widow of U.S. Army Sgt. La David T. Johnson, who was killed this month in Niger.
