JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a teenage boy was killed and another was seriously injured when they were struck by a hit-and-run driver.
The accident occurred around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Jersey City. Police found the car a short time later and detained two people who they say were passengers in the vehicle, but the driver remains at large.
A 15-year-old boy was pronounced dead shortly after the accident occurred. The other youth was being treated at a hospital for injuries that were considered life-threatening, but further details were not disclosed.
The names of the two teens have not been disclosed.
Authorities say the cause of the accident remains under investigation.
