RENO, Nev. (AP) - Police with a northwestern Nevada school district say a juvenile was arrested in connection to a shooting threat made online against a middle school.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reports that Washoe County School District Police Chief Jason Trevino says the arrest for the Tuesday threat marks the first time the district has arrested a person based only on a threat and no other criminal actions.

The threat was made against Shaw Middle School in Sparks, Nevada, and Trevino says he could not confirm if the juvenile was a student at the school.

District officials say they would seek charges against juvenile under two Nevada statutes that involve making threats or conveying false information and that prohibit actions that interfere with school assembly.
