BAYONNE, N.J. (AP) - Firefighters rescued two people from their rooms when a fire broke out at a New Jersey motel.
Bayonne police say the fire started around 2:45 a.m. Saturday in a first-floor room at the Hudson Plaza Motel. But firefighters were able to contain the blaze to the room and brought the fire under control in about 30 minutes.
A person found in the bathroom of that unit was taken to the hospital with undisclosed injuries, while another person was rescued from a neighboring room.
Two firefighters were treated at the scene for undisclosed minor injuries, while another was taken to a hospital for evaluation. Authorities say all three were soon cleared to return to duty.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation Sunday.
