ASHLAND, Mo. (AP) - Authorities in mid-Missouri have identified the engaged couple found fatally shot inside a home in Ashland.
The Columbia Tribune reports that the Boone County Sheriff’s Department identified the victims as 42-year-old Travis Parker and 36-year-old Jessica Willits.
The bodies were found Thursday. Investigators believe both had lived at the home in Ashland, near Columbia, since July.
Willits was shot twice in the chest with a rifle. Parker suffered a single shot to the head with the same weapon. Ashland Police Chief Lyn Woolford says investigators have not yet ruled whether the incident was a murder-suicide, but police do not believe anyone else was involved in the shooting.
