A California-based comedian who has appeared on “Conan” and other popular television shows is lighting up social media with an LGBT-inspired Nativity scene.

The story of Christ’s birth has received an LGBT makeover in stand-up comedian Cameron Esposito’s Los Angeles neighborhood, and the result has shown itself to be quite popular on Twitter. An image of her neighbor’s “two Joseph” Nativity display shared four days ago prompted 22,000 likes and thousands of shares.

“Our neighbors’ two Joseph nativity is up & I’m beaming,” wrote Ms. Esposito.

The image of two pink-garbed men instead of depictions of Joseph and Mary elicited hundreds of replies.

“Man the birth of Jesus was DEFINITELY a miracle now,” joked comic book writer Mags Visaggio.

“Can’t express how much I love this! Thanks for sharing & Merry Christmas!” added another.

User Albeerta Stan‏ professed to be a “strong defender” of the LGBT community, but said, “I can’t see how this is anything but mockery of Christians.”

The Daily Wire, a website run by conservative icon Ben Shapiro, also weighed in on Tuesday.

“Nothing says ’boys club’ quite like two dudes fathering the most influential human being — who’s also male — throughout all of history, while women are nowhere to be found,” writer Paul Bois noted.
