NEWPORT, N.H. (AP) - An early morning fire has destroyed a house in Newport, New Hampshire.

The fire was reported around 3:30 Saturday morning.

WMUR-TV reports that firefighters arrived three minutes later and saw heavy flames coming from the right side and rear of the home on both floors and the back porch.

The fire was brought under control by about 5 a.m.

The two adult residents of the home were not injured.

A firefighter says the fire possibly started either in the basement or on the deck but because there was so much damage officials say the cause of the fire is undetermined.
