ELLENDALE, Del. (AP) - Police in Delaware say they’ve identified the car and driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident that occurred more than 10 days ago.

Delaware State Police said in a statement Friday that the incident occurred Nov. 16 in Ellendale, which is about 30 miles south of Dover.

Police said 53-year-old Jacqueline Jenkins was struck while walking along South Old State Road.

Investigators believed that Jenkins was struck by a car’s side mirror and possibly its front headlight. Police said their investigation led them to identify the vehicle as a 2008 Pontiac G6 and its driver as 61-year-old Parless Dockery of Ellendale.

Police said they looked over the Pontiac and found evidence linking it to the crash. Police said the incident remains under investigation.
