MARION, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a 21-year-old man and his 16-year-old stepbrother have been killed in a one-car crash on a western New York road.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office says Taylor Christie, of the town of Marion, was driving in his hometown around 5:15 p.m. Monday when he lost control on a rural road, left the roadway and hit a tree.
Deputies say Christie and his stepbrother, 16-year-old Evan Woodward, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the teen was a Marion High School student who was getting a ride home from basketball practice from Christie. School district officials say grief counselors are available Tuesday for students.
The crash remains under investigation.
The accident came a day after another one-car claimed a man’s life in Marion, located about 20 miles (32 kilometers) east of Rochester.
