FLAGLER BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a kite surfer was hospitalized after crashing into a building near a Florida beach.
The Daytona Beach News-Journal reports that 56-year-old Peter James Vasiliades had been kite surfing in Flagler Beach earlier this week when heavy winds caused him to hit a downspout at High Tides at Snack Jacks. He then slammed into an adjacent building and fell down a flight of stairs.
Vasiliades was airlifted to a Daytona Beach Hospital. His kite was found tangled in nearby powerlines.
The man’s condition was unavailable Friday.
