Missouri Baptist hires from within for next president

CREVE COEUR, Mo. (AP) - After a nationwide search, Missouri Baptist University selected a current administrator to be the school’s next president.

The private college announced Thursday that Keith Ross, alumnus and vice president of advancement, will become its new president starting Jan. 10.

Ross will replace Alton Lacey, who plans to retire after more than 22 years at the college.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports the university’s board unanimously approved Ross’ appointment.

Ross, a St. Louis native, joined Missouri Baptist in 1992 as an admissions counselor. He earned his master’s from Regent University in Virginia and his doctorate from Maryville University.
