Prince William and younger brother Prince Harry will have cameos in “Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi,” but you won’t be seeing their faces.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, sources confirm that the British royals will portray stormtroopers in a brief scene in the film, and that they’ll be joined by two U.K. pop-culture icons, pop singer Gary Barlow and actor Tom Hardy, who most recently played a heroic RAF pilot in Christopher Nolan’s summer blockbuster “Dunkirk.”

In 2015’s “The Force Awakens,” Daniel Craig, best known for his portray of British superspy James Bond, had a stormtrooper cameo in a humorous Jedi mind-trick scene with lead actress Daisy Ridley (Rey).

London native John Boyega, who plays stormtrooper-turned-rebel Finn, told THR that he enjoyed shooting the scene with the royals, the elder of whom will most likely ascend the throne.

“It was a great experience,” Mr. Boyega said, reported THR, describing the experience as “fun.”

As with the other pictures in the the “Star Wars” franchise, much of the filming for “Episode VIII” took place on U.K. soundstages with a significant complement of British acting talent.

“The Last Jedi” opens in the U.K. cinemas on Dec. 14 and in the U.S. and Canada one day later, Dec. 15.
