PITTSBURGH (AP) - Police have obtained an arrest warrant for a suspect in the shooting death of a high school honor roll student in Pittsburgh last year.

Eighteen-year-old Emere Mason is charged with criminal homicide and carrying a firearm without a license.

Mason is charged in the December 2016 shooting death of 17-year-old Rashawn Gibson, who was gunned down while standing on a porch in the Sheraden neighborhood.

Gibson was a standout senior at Brashear High School and planned to attend college.

Court records in Allegheny County don’t list a defense attorney for Mason who could respond to the charges.
