DECATUR, Ala. (AP) - Police say a woman who fled to Mexico after being told she was facing drug charges has been arrested in northern Alabama.

Local news media reported Monday that Decatur Police say 38-year-old Jimmie Lou Soto was arrested after police learned she returned to the city to sell meth. Police found Soto on Feb. 6 with nearly two ounces of methamphetamine, prescription drugs and a handgun.

Police say Soto was told she was to expect an arrest as part of a continuing narcotics investigation. She fled the country to Mexico a few days later.

Soto is charged with meth trafficking, drug trafficking and being a person forbidden to possess a firearm. She is being held in the Morgan County Jail without bond.

It’s unclear if Soto has an attorney.
