UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. (AP) - A fire chief says an overheated air handler caused smoke to fill a building at Saginaw Valley State University, forcing hundreds of people to evacuate.
Kochville Township Fire Chief Alan Malesky says students and faculty were evacuated from the Health and Human Services building and the adjoining Gilbertson Hall after the incident Tuesday morning.
University spokesman J.J. Boehm says people were allowed to return to the buildings less than an hour later.
No one was hurt.
