BURLINGTON, Iowa (AP) - Authorities say a woman found by firefighters inside a burning duplex has died in southeast Iowa.

The fire was reported around 6:15 a.m. Sunday in Burlington and was under control by 6:45 a.m.

Authorities say firefighters who found the woman took her outside, but she died despite attempts to resuscitate her. Her name hasn’t been released. An autopsy was ordered.



The fire cause is being investigated.
